Awarapan 2 Box Office: Emraan Hashmi's ₹217 Crore Hit
Awarapan 2 with Emraan Hashmi earned a Super Duper Hit label from Koimoi on a reported ₹45 crore budget. Figures and tracker differences.

Awarapan 2 has closed as one of the clearest profit stories of Bollywood's 2026. Directed by Nitin Kakkar and led by Emraan Hashmi, it opened on August 14 against another big release and went on to earn more than four times its reported budget at the worldwide box office. All figures below are trade estimates, and trackers differ.
The closing numbers
Koimoi's closing report puts the India net at ₹156.12 crore (₹184.23 crore gross), with ₹33.41 crore from overseas, for a worldwide gross of about ₹217.64 crore. Against a reported budget of ₹45 crore, Koimoi calculates a return of roughly ₹111 crore, or 247 per cent, and rates the film a Super Duper Hit.
Sacnilk's figures are close but not identical. Its tracker lists an India net of ₹150.54 crore and a worldwide gross of ₹213.02 crore, while its Hindi-films page shows an India gross of ₹179.46 crore and ₹33.55 crore overseas. The worldwide gap is only about ₹4 crore.
A strong opening and a long run
The opening was large for a mid-budget film. Koimoi records a day-one India net of ₹23.4 crore, an opening weekend of ₹84.31 crore and a first week of ₹117.66 crore. KS Box Office lists a slightly lower opening day, ₹22.85 crore, and a first week of ₹114.68 crore. Koimoi's weekend figure puts Awarapan 2 sixth among Bollywood's 2026 openers, ahead of Dhamaal 4, Welcome to the Jungle, Bhooth Bangla and Cocktail 2.
Koimoi's October 18 list of the top Hindi grossers of 2026 shows the film eighth, at ₹156.12 crore India net, behind Dhurandhar 2, Border 2, Drishyam 3, Hanuman Ansh, Mirzapur: The Movie, Bhooth Bangla and Dhamaal 4.
The film and the cast
Awarapan 2 stars Emraan Hashmi with Disha Patani, Shabana Azmi and Suvinder Vicky, according to the Wikipedia list of 2026 Hindi films. Nitin Kakkar is credited as director.
The budget matters here. A film reportedly made for ₹45 crore needs far less to turn a profit than one made for ₹275 crore, such as Border 2. By Koimoi's own calculations, Awarapan 2 returned 247 per cent while Border 2 returned about 32 per cent, even though Border 2 grossed more in absolute terms.
The clash that did not hurt
Awarapan 2 opened on the same day, August 14, as Batwara 1947, a film starring Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta. Koimoi's table lists Batwara 1947 with an India net of ₹36.7 crore and a Flop verdict, against a worldwide gross of ₹53.01 crore. The Indian Express reported on day five that the film had earned around ₹43 crore worldwide. The two films therefore had very different outcomes despite sharing a release date.
Maddock Films also moved another of its releases to avoid the date. The Wikipedia entry for Prahaar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam says the makers postponed it from August 7 so that it would not open against both Batwara 1947 and Awarapan 2.
What the label means
Koimoi's Super Duper Hit reflects its own cost estimates. KS Box Office labelled the film All Time Blockbuster at ₹152 crore India net while the run was still in progress. Labels are editorial choices, and budgets are rarely disclosed.
The summary
Awarapan 2 grossed roughly ₹213 crore to ₹218 crore worldwide on the two main trackers, earned between ₹150 crore and ₹156 crore net in India, and cost about ₹45 crore by reported figures. Whatever the label, it is among the most profitable Hindi releases of 2026 on reported budgets.
