The Vvaan Box Office: Sidharth Malhotra Film Closes
The Vvaan closed near ₹90.87 crore worldwide per Koimoi, labelled Plus, while reviews were largely negative. Figures and caveats, sourced.

The Vvaan: Force of the Forrest, an eco-thriller starring Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia, closed its run at about ₹90.87 crore worldwide on Koimoi's count. Reviews were largely negative even as Koimoi labelled the result Plus. The figures are trade estimates.
The numbers
Koimoi's closing report puts the worldwide gross at ₹90.87 crore: ₹82.82 crore gross in India and ₹8.05 crore overseas, with an India net of ₹69.81 crore. Koimoi's verdict is Plus.
The overseas share is small, under 9 per cent of the total. By comparison, Welcome to the Jungle earned ₹33.36 crore of its ₹196.11 crore overseas on Koimoi's count, a share of about 17 per cent.
The film and the cast
Deepak Kumar Mishra directs. According to Wikipedia, the cast includes Sidharth Malhotra, Tamannaah Bhatia, Maniesh Paul, Sunil Grover, Shweta Tiwari and Anup Soni.
The reviews
Reviews were largely negative. The Hindu called the film a lopsided eco-thriller. We did not find a strongly positive review among the outlets we checked.
A Plus label on a poorly reviewed film
A Plus verdict means Koimoi judges the film to have earned more than its reported cost. Negative reviews and a profit can coexist, and the Vvaan numbers show that reception and revenue do not always move together. We did not find a published budget figure in the sources we reviewed, so we cannot restate the return.
Sidharth Malhotra in 2026
The Vvaan is his main theatrical 2026 title in our coverage, and the Wikipedia list of 2026 Hindi films shows no other major Sidharth release this year. Tamannaah Bhatia also appears in O'Romeo, which opened on February 13 and closed at about ₹123.1 crore worldwide.
Comparing with Alpha and Main Vaapas Aaunga
At ₹90.87 crore worldwide, The Vvaan is below Alpha at ₹99.07 crore and Main Vaapas Aaunga at ₹98.85 crore. Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai finished at ₹87.78 crore. Their verdicts on Koimoi differ: Alpha is Losing, Main Vaapas Aaunga is Losing, Hai Jawani is Losing and The Vvaan is Plus. That spread, in films within about ₹11 crore of each other, shows how much depends on budget assumptions.
The cast beyond the leads
The supporting cast mixes film and television names. Sunil Grover and Maniesh Paul are both widely known for television and stage work, and Shweta Tiwari and Anup Soni come from television as well. The film's casting is therefore broad, but no source we reviewed says which of these names drew audiences to the film, and we do not claim any did.
What we cannot say
We cannot say how large the audience was beyond the collection, because no demographic data is published. We cannot say whether the film will find a second life on streaming. And we cannot say whether the negative reviews hurt it, because we do not have a weekly collection pattern in the sources we reviewed.
The bottom line
The Vvaan earned about ₹91 crore worldwide and ₹69.81 crore net in India, was labelled Plus by Koimoi and was poorly reviewed by critics we checked. The takeaway is that a film can be criticised and still profit, but the margin of that profit is not public.
Reviews and labels
The mismatch between a Plus label and negative reviews is not unusual, but it does mean this film's label should not be read as praise. It is a statement about collections against a reported cost.
