Ajay Devgn's Drishyam 3: The Conclusion arrived on October 2, 2026, and delivered the biggest opening of his career. The Hindi film, directed by Abhishek Pathak, is now Bollywood's second-biggest opener of the year after Dhurandhar: The Revenge. The numbers below are trade estimates from Koimoi, Sacnilk and others, and they were still moving as of October 18.

A big first day

Koimoi's worldwide report puts day-one business at about ₹91.66 crore: ₹73.16 crore in India and ₹18.5 crore overseas. It described that as Bollywood's seventh-biggest worldwide opening of all time, ahead of Stree 2. Koimoi's Bollywood tracker lists an India opening-day net of ₹62 crore, while BusinessToday reported that the film gave Ajay Devgn his biggest opener.

The gap between ₹62 crore net and ₹73.16 crore India gross is the usual difference between net, which removes taxes, and gross, which includes them.

The weekend and the run so far

The three-day weekend came to ₹174.5 crore net in India according to Koimoi, which ranks it second among 2026 openings behind Dhurandhar 2's four-day ₹466 crore. Bollywood Hungama reported the same weekend as the second-biggest of 2026 and said it passed Border 2, Toxic and Mirzapur. Box Office India ranks the weekend fourth on its all-time list of first weekends.

By October 15, Koimoi's tracker showed India net of ₹329.25 crore and a worldwide gross of ₹520.21 crore, with a Super Hit verdict. Sacnilk's figures at day 17 are a little higher: India net of ₹341.10 crore and a worldwide gross of ₹528.77 crore. Koimoi's October 18 top-grossers page lists the film at ₹341.6 crore India net, which puts it third among Hindi films of 2026 behind Dhurandhar 2 and Border 2. The trackers differ by single-digit percentages, which is typical for a film still in release.

Who is in it

Drishyam 3: The Conclusion stars Ajay Devgn, with Tabu, Shriya Saran, Jaideep Ahlawat, Ishita Dutta, Rajat Kapoor and Prakash Raj in the cast listed in the 2026 Hindi release calendar. It is the third part of the Hindi franchise.

The Malayalam original is a separate release. Wikipedia lists the Malayalam Drishyam 3, directed by Jeethu Joseph and starring Mohanlal, as released on May 21, 2026, with a gross of ₹237.70 crore, making it the franchise's highest earner in Malayalam. That means Hindi audiences were meeting a story that had already been told once this year in another language, and the Hindi opening still set records.

The knock-on effects

The strength of the opening reshaped the calendar. The Indian Express and Hindustan Times reported that Udta Teer, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan, was postponed from October 9 to a later date, with the makers citing a cleaner release window. A Koimoi release listing now shows other titles such as Vayuputra and Prahaar arriving in the same weeks.

For Devgn, the film comes after Dhamaal 4, which closed at about ₹236 crore worldwide on Koimoi, and it follows the pattern of 2026 as a year of sequels. NDTV Profit described Drishyam 3, Dhurandhar 2 and Border 2 as the main drivers of the year's box office.

What to watch next

Three numbers will decide how the film is remembered. The first is the India net total, which looks set to settle above ₹340 crore. The second is the overseas share: ₹18.5 crore of the ₹91.66 crore opening day, or about 20 per cent, is in line with a franchise that has a loyal diaspora audience. The third is how well it holds against Ramayana: Part 1, which is scheduled for November 5.

Readers should treat the verdict labels with care. Super Hit is Koimoi's label, based on its own cost estimates, and other outlets may use different terms.
